Terminal Output Data: When you use Saniterm, you paste terminal output into our application. This data is:

• Sent to your configured AI provider (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, or your self-hosted model) for analysis
• Not stored on our servers
• Processed in your browser for display and export

API Keys: If you use the free online version, your API key is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is only sent to the respective AI provider. We never receive or store your API keys.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide the Saniterm service - analyzing terminal output for sensitive information and enabling redaction. We do not:

• Store your terminal output
• Share your data with third parties (except the AI provider you configure)
• Use your data for training AI models
• Track your usage for advertising purposes

4. Third-Party Services

When using Saniterm, your data may be processed by:

• AI Providers: Anthropic, OpenAI, or other providers you configure. Their privacy policies apply to data sent to them.
• Self-Hosted Models: If you use Ollama or other self-hosted solutions, data stays within your infrastructure.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. Since we don't store your terminal data, there is no risk of data breach from our servers.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to data processing
• Data portability

Since we don't store personal data, most of these rights are automatically fulfilled. To clear locally stored API keys, use the "Clear" button in the application or clear your browser's localStorage.

7. Cookies

Saniterm does not use cookies for tracking. We only use browser localStorage to save your API key preference locally on your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
